Kevin Kearney, City Auditor
I was born and raised in Alameda and received my education from the City’s public school system. I received my Bachelors degree from U.C. Berkeley and my Masters from San Francisco State University.
I have had the pleasure of serving as the City Auditor of Alameda since 1991. During my term the City has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for 24 consecutive years. In addition to fulfilling the Charter requirements of the City Auditor, I have served on financial committees at the request of City Managers and City Council members. I was a co-chairman of the Fiscal Sustainability Committee and a member of the Pension Task Force.
Aside from my commitment to fiscally responsible financial matters for the City, I have been a supporter of various local sports and recreation programs- including restarting the ARPD Summer Baseball Program (the T-Shirt League).
My local Certified Public Accountant business has provided experienced tax and accounting services for over 25 years to individuals and families throughout the Bay Area.
It would be an honor to earn your vote again and continue to serve as your City Auditor.
Kevin Kennedy, City Treasurer
I have served as your City Treasurer for the past 16 years. During my tenure as Treasurer, the City has won multiple awards for both our investment policy and our budget presentations. In addition to executing the Charter role of the City Treasurer, I've served at the behest of City Managers and City Council members on important financial teams, most notably co-chairing the Fiscal Sustainability Committee and serving on the Pension Task Force.
My family and I have lived in Alameda for 25 years. My business is in Alameda, and my wife was a teacher for the Alameda School District. As a Certified Financial Planner, I've been sharing my expertise with individuals and families for over 28 years to help them achieve their financial goals.
I care deeply about the community, and I'm proud to have served on boards and committees for many non-profit and charitable organizations in Alameda. I was a driving force in restarting the ARPD Summer Baseball Program (the T-Shirt League).
My goal in serving the people of Alameda is to bring my expertise in financial matters to our government to ensure Alameda continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.
As your City Auditor and City Treasurer, Kevin Kearney and Kevin Kennedy have encouraged collaboration across multiple stakeholders, from City staff and City Council members, to employee union representatives and local citizen groups. If reelected they will continue their efforts and assist City policy makers to resolve important City financial issues.
